Books & influence

Growing up, there have been many tings have had an influence on my life. Reading has been a huge influence because, authors include life lessons and personal messages, that I interpret and use to live a stronger and more enjoyable life.
·      “The Fault in Our Stars”- John Green – When I first read this book, I was influenced to appreciate life. While reading, I became emotionally connected to book, seeing how devastating life can be for others. Reading this book, allowed me to appreciate life in general and also realize that life is short and a gift that should not be wasted.
·       “A Child Called It” – Dave Pelzar – Reading this book, opened my eyes to not be selfish. The influence this book had on my life was to be grateful for what I have rather than what I want.

·      “Still Breathin” – Brenden M Dilley – In life I have always been stubborn because I have a tendency to always have to be right. This book has influenced me because it has allowed me to take a step back listen to others, instead of being stubborn. It has also helped me with advice and guidance in my life.

  1. I've also had the experience of reading a book and saying, "Wow, I have a lot to be grateful for." I think those books made me more compassionate too.

  3. A child called "It" and A fault in our Stars are both amazing heart felt books in my opinion. I love reading books that make me feel an emotion even if it does make me feel sad. Sometimes we have to read books to understand what other people may be going through in their life to have a brief understanding of their experiences and be fortunate of our own.

  4. compassion and perspective seemed like the theme surrounding the books that you choose. I can really appreciate someone who can see beyond the problems that we think we have in our society , "the wifi is slow" "there were out of chicken at chipotle" but not realizing the blessings we have all around us.
